The Origin of Yakisoba Pan
There are several theories about its origin, but one of the most widely accepted traces back to the 1950s at a bakery called Nozawaya in Minami-Senju, Arakawa Ward, Tokyo.
At the time, the bakery sold yakisoba and koppe pan separately. One day, a customer reportedly said, “It’s too much trouble—can you just put the noodles inside the bread?” That simple request is said to have sparked the creation of yakisoba pan.
The bread was sold for 15 yen back then, and thanks to its convenience and satisfying taste, it became an explosive hit, quickly spreading throughout Japan.
